MS6008 – Phillips 66 Oil Tank Wagon (1927)

Back in 1927, most roads, particularly in the south and southwest of the USA, were still in the horse and buggy age.  Distributors delivered their products to local gas stations by horse drawn oil tank wagons.

This new kit represents a typical oil wagon of the period. The tank was fitted on a modified Studebaker chassis and custom welded with separate compartments and plumbing for gasoline, kerosene and lubricating oil.

 This kit contains laser cut basswood components for the tanker body, wheels and rails, a wealth of expertly cast Britannia metal parts which replicate the brake assemblies, axle braces and smaller detail pieces.

Other material include gasket stock for the tyres, brass rods, nails and chain.  Cast resin is used for wheel hubs, chairs and gasoline can.  Realistic decals add life-like authenticity.
